"Sometime during my undergraduate work, a subtle change came over me in which I became more interested in starting my own business than in getting a job. What appealed to me was a sense of self-direction, independence, and accomplishment. I have since pursued a career in entrepreneurism, angel investing, and venture capital. I have created businesses, shut them down, bought and sold them, and have managed some of them for up to ten years. I have worked with fascinating, driven and interesting people and I have learned from the best. I know entrepreneurism isn't for everyone, but I would like to seek out and assist those who share my passion."
- Greg Warnock, Junto Partners Founder
The Junto program is designed to lead you through a journey of self discovery regarding your true aptitude to be a successful entrepreneur. By working through the content and materials of the program, you will see more clearly your inherent attributes that will contribute to your success as an entrepreneur. And you will also become painfully aware of your limitations which will need to be addressed if you hope to succeed.
The Goal: • Identify and select leading candidates who possess the qualities critical to becoming successful entrepreneurs. • Empower entrepreneurs with knowledge, networks and access to capital to launch businesses. • Identify business opportunities using a refined and thorough methodology. • Build companies that require a minimal capital, can effectively enter the market and take advantage of market shifts, and are more highly-adaptable.
The Classes: Classes will be held once a week for six weeks. Greg Warnock, master entrepreneur, leads each of the six three hour sessions that includes a lecture, interactive discussions, videos of successful entrepreneurs and expert guest speakers. The dynamic Junto classes are designed to emphasize what really matters to your success as an entrepreneur, to help you sort through the "fluff" of starting a business and to clearly understand what activities and strategies make a difference in start-up success.
The Curriculum: Each session includes a written text, a video of instruction from successful entrepreneurs and suggested readings from other popular business books. The University caliber curriculum is designed to teach tactical skills and strategies to help entrepreneurs select growth businesses, marshall resources, build networks, increase credibility, raise capital, attract customers and capture market share.
The Activities: Junto believes entrepreneurship is learned by doing it. Each of the seven sessions include hands-on individual and group activities. Selected Junto candidates will participate in a fundraising challenge, entrepreneur interview, community service project, sales challenge, networking event and other real life challenges that help reinforce core entrepreneurial skills learned in each of the seven sessions. These challenges and team projects are also important in determining and selecting the five candidates that will become Junto Partners.
The Junto Partners: At the end of the six weeks, five candidates will be selected to become Junto Partners. Partners benefit from ongoing mentoring from Greg Warnock, Alan Hall and other Junto mentors. Partners also enjoy a close kinship with 30 past partners who are committed to supporting and collaborating together. Becoming a Junto Partner provides expanded opportunities for growth, high level networking, and new business opportunities.
"The Junto program accelerated my growth as an entrepreneur and a business professional. My personal network expanded, my customer base grew and my business flourished as a direct result of the credibility and capability I derived from my experience as a Junto Partner."
